BG Review: COOLA SPF 30 MAKEUP SETTING SPRAY

By Stephanie Coulter

If there's one thing I love, it's a multi-use beauty product.

Setting makeup is usually done with translucent loose or pressed powder. Dusting with powder is a very effective way to set makeup, and I highly recommend this technique for setting concealer under the eyes. Using powder all over the face, however, can leave the skin looking flat. With the current trend for glowing, natural looking skin (that actually LOOKS like skin), powdering all over the face is out of the question.

Setting sprays are a fantastic way to lock in your makeup for the long-haul. Some setting sprays are little more than glorified toners - M.A.C Fix Plus is a perfect example. This would be a great option for those after an extra dewy finish, or for those with dry skin. Fix Plus is excellent for prepping the skin; but it won't make your makeup last longer. Think of it as a hydrating boost spray.

Coola caught my attention with their new SPF 30 Makeup Setting Spray. Many of us have a lackadaisical approach to sunscreen, and some skip this crucial step completely. Sunscreen is vital for healthy beautiful skin.

The addition of a broad spectrum SPF into a makeup setting spray is nothing short of genius - a convenient way

RESULTS

The first spray felt quite wet, but the product dried quickly. My skin was left looking fresh and radiant without any shine. I noticed a distinct sunscreen smell, which is evidence of a strong SPF presence in the product.

Over the course of the day I noticed my makeup lasted beautifully - it defintely had more staying power than usual. I felt safe knowing I was protected from UV rays as I went about my daily business.

This product will be staple for me over summer, and I look forward to using it even on days when I'm not wearing makeup. Because it is a spray, be sure to use a liberal amount over the face or neck for sun protection. For maximum protection, apply another product with SPF first, and use the spray as a top-up. I recommend foundations with SPF in them for everyday use.
